Hemmings Classic Car receives national award for the “Black Beast” article
As reported on the Hemmings Daily Blog, the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association has recognized Hemmings Classic Car for excellence during its annual awards banquet in May 2014 at the Indianapolis 500. Race Profile: 1909 Massapequa Sweepstakes
During the 1909 Vanderbilt Cup Race, two other sweepstakes races (the Massapequa Sweepstakes and the Wheatley Hills Sweepstakes ) were run simultaneously for commercially available stock cars. The Massapequa Sweepstakes had six entrants for the smallest stock cars with engines 161 to 230 cubic inches. (6 comments)
